Tax Filing Requirements

All US chapters, regardless of the amount of their gross receipts (income), need to submit one of the Form 990 variations (990, 990EZ, or 990-N e-postcard). Chapters that fail to file for three consecutive years will automatically lose their tax-exempt status. If you are currently a US chapter, you will need to file one of the variations of the Federal IRS form 990 by 15 November. Questions? Review our Frequently Asked Questions document.

Chapter Check Information

Active members pay their membership dues to Sigma for the international and chapter portion of their dues. The chapter dues are returned to the treasurer in regularly scheduled disbursements. Chapters have the option to receive a check in the mail or to utilize direct deposit into a specified bank account.
