Nearly 40% of the world's population cooks on primitive cookstoves, exposing billions of people to dangerous household air pollution. Dr. Lisa M. Thompson's research is putting cleaner stoves in homes around the world, drastically impacting the lives of women and children. For her work, Lisa was recently inducted in Sigma's International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.

Lisa M. Thompson, RN, FNP, PhD, FAAN, is an Associate Professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University, with an additional appointment in the Emory University School of Public Health. She is a member of Sigma’s Alpha Epsilon Chapter.
